From the NY Times

The Megapixel Myth

Misfit

Five Color Prints

Your images should convey a feeling of not fitting in - of being an outcast. The way you define “misfit” is up to your interpretation. In the past students have even photographed architecture as misfit. Diane Arbus used the term "freak." An important consideration is the fact that everyone can be a misfit in the right (wrong) circumstances. This assignment is not an excuse to photograph people that you think are losers. It can be an exploration of disfunctionality, feeling like an outcast. With this project you can explore your own experience as a misfit, your friends, or (respectfully) strangers.

Think of my assignments as provocations. They should inspire or provoke ideas.
